The Finnish Democratic Republic (1939-1940) was a client state of the Soviet Union that existed during the Winter War, where the Soviet Union unsuccessfully tried to conquer Finland. It was absorbed into the Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic in 1940.
